Liam StoreyOn Sunday 31st May 2009, Liam Storey (past Tennis Coach in Liskeard and Dartmouth) ran the SBS Christchurch Marathon in New Zealand. Liam was running to raise money for local Cornish based charity Ellies Haven. He managed to raise £922.50 (in excess of £1000 when including Gift Aid), and completed the run in 4 hours and 5 minutes, despite injuries and little training.
When asked how much this run meant to him, he replied, this was a very special day for me, to be able to run for such a good charity. Ellies Haven is a very deserving charity and aims to offer short-break holidays to children with life threatening, life limiting and prolonged illnesses, and their families. This charity will give children and their families a chance to experience wonderful local surroundings and attractions in Cornwall and Devon. Liam would just like to thank all his sponsors for their support, and hopes that others will continue to support Ellies Haven to fulfill their dream.
