Julie Libby (Ellie's Mum)
Proprietor, Julie's Flowers
Julie is co-founder of Ellie's Haven which was founded in 2007 and runs a florist business in her home town of Looe. Julie has considerable experience caring for two life-limited children.
Dr Carolyn Adcock
Consultant General Paediatrician, Plymouth NHS Trust
Carolyn is a Consultant General Paediatrician at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. She has an interest in the management of children with neurological problems and is sure some of her patients will benefit greatly from the provisions Ellie's Haven aims to provide. Carolyn is delighted to be able to support the development of "Ellie's Haven" by serving as a Trustee.
Dr Alan Cade
Consultant Paediatrician, Plymouth NHS Trust
Alan has been a Consultant Paediatrician at Derriford hospital, Plymouth since 2002. He has a special interest in respiratory paediatrics, cystic fibrosis and non-invasive ventilatory support for children with life-limiting neuromuscular disease.
Alan has a personal interest in children with life-limiting disease having had a brother who died through long-term illness in early adulthood. Alan believes he is privileged to be involved in Ellie's Haven - an essential service for children with long-term disease and their families.
Steve Toynton MB, FRCS(ORL)
Consultant ENT Surgeon, Plymouth NHS Trust
Steve is a Consultant ENT surgeon (subspecialising in paediatrics) at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth and is married to a GP, with four daughters and lives in Cornwall. His particular interests are in airway problems, hearing reconstruction surgery and ear disease.
In the course of his work he deals with many children who have complex disabilities and so is fully aware of the difficulties experienced by patient’s and their families. Steve says that he is delighted to be associated with this project.
Teresa Appleton
Photographer
Teresa is a self employed commercial photographer based in Looe. Her career background is media based, having produced and directed television programmes and managed media communications for large public organisations.
Nick Barclay
Consultant Chef
Nick is an award winning chef, restaurateur and hotelier based in Looe. He is currently a consultant and guest chef to the food industry working on various food inspired projects. Nick and Kelli, his wife, lost their first child at just 4 days old - in addition Nick lost both his brothers (one to terminal illness) and both Nick and Kelli wish to do all they can to make "Ellie's Haven" a wonderful reality.
Karl Hobson
Deputy Clerk to the Justices for East Cornwall
Karl is a lawyer employed by Her Majesty’s Courts Service as Deputy Clerk to the Justices for East Cornwall.
Karl has worked in the courts service for nearly twenty years and whilst he deals with all adult and youth criminal courts he has developed an expertise in children and family law. Karl is the "family champion" for Devon and Cornwall Magistrates and is also a member of the local Family Justice Council. For this reason he is whole heartedly committed and supports "Ellie’s Haven".
